Adopting a new, modern workplace Cloud solution, built on a Microsoft Azure platform and Microsoft 365, has delivered significant improvements to NGA Law. The project included a migration from the previous hosted systems and utilised the latest Microsoft technologies including Azure Virtual Desktop, Office 365, Teams, and Exchange Online email – all secured and protected with multi-factor authentication (MFA). Kirstie Porter-Smith, Operations Manager for NGA Law, spoke to us about the implementation:

“There’s always some anxiety about moving to a new environment, but the process was very organised, without any business interruption. We were kept in the loop – briefed in advance about what would happen, and when. On delivery day they were there to troubleshoot and answer any questions, and everyone was able to log back in the next day and continue working as normal. Advanced support continues to be at hand, able to help with any queries we might have.”

Kirstie also spoke about the advantages their new platform offers the firm:

“One of our aims, other than updating our system, was to help our team work more efficiently from remote locations. They needed the ability to easily connect with each other, and our clients. Adopting this new platform means we can now host Teams meetings within our hosted environment, and we’ve also expanded our paperless working capabilities. Now we can work much more quickly and efficiently, and we would happily recommend Azure 365 and Advanced Managed Services to others.”

Kirstie Porter-Smith, Operations Manager, NGA said: “We really appreciate the high level of support, but also the way our new environment encompasses everything, including ALB”.

NGA’s previous system was delivered on the Advanced private Cloud platform. This offered them good levels of availability, support, and remote working, but lacked some of the latest collaboration and communication technologies that are now available from Microsoft 365.
