In 2002, a lawyer from a mid-tier law firm believed that the legal market was ready for a new approach. Using technical innovation and modern working practices to drive productivity, he created Keystone Law to deliver legal expertise in a more efficient way.

Keystone lawyers work independently, from whichever location is most convenient for them and their clients. The firm provides all of the support and infrastructure required by the fee earners including a suite of meeting rooms, marketing, compliance, finance and IT support.

At the heart of the business is a bespoke IT platform known as Keyed-in. It’s a flexible system that ensures lawyers can access everything they need from one central location.

Today, Keystone Law is one of the UK’s leading law firms, with over 400 lawyers who offer exceptional levels of knowledge and experience to thousands of clients across the globe. The Legal 500 2021 recognised the firm as ‘one of the go-to firms’ for its ‘great roster of highly experienced talent’ and in November 2020 it was awarded the coveted law firm of the year accolade at The Lawyer Awards.

A custom-fit approach

Keystone started using P4W in the early years of the business. At the time, this system was selected because it offered the very specific administration and financial functions that the firm wanted, without requiring significant administration to deliver them. As Keystone has grown, so has the way the firm uses P4W.

P4W’s flexible structure, which integrates with many market-leading technology solutions, was quickly realised by Keystone. They worked with the P4W team to transform Keyed-in from a simple intranet into an award-winning tech platform and today it is used by hundreds of lawyers who can easily access information whenever and wherever they require it.

One source efficiency

Maurice Tunney, director of technology and innovation at Keystone Law, sees P4W’s open access database as one of its biggest strengths. He says: “Using the system’s single database means data only has to be entered once. That provides us with a significant reduction in input time and eliminates the risk of data duplication.”
